
In early 2006, the Gabbard brothers recruited Sebaali to play drums (he had played keyboards in Thee Shams) and formed Buffalo Killers. "In the end it was broke and the road only made it worse", said Zach, adding, "It was best to move on, take a break and re-evaluate the situation". Thee Shams released four albums on four record labels before the Gabbard brothers broke up the band in late 2005. Zach formed the garage rock band Thee Shams in 1999 the five-piece band included the other two future members of Buffalo Killers. Zach recalls growing up "listening to Neil Young, The Grateful Dead, CSNY and New Riders of the Purple Sage from as long back as I can remember." With access to their father's record collection and musical instruments, Zach says he and his brother were "groomed" to make a career of playing music. When the band preformed at the two festivals, the two performers were seen wearing colorless helmets of Goldie Foxx and Dyna Mink, while Cherry was projected onto a screen.Īfter a few years worth of inactivity, Studio Killers announced their return on February 15th, 2018 through a Youtube video.History Early years and formation Īndrew and Zachary Gabbard grew up in a musical household with a guitar-playing father, who taught them to play the instrument at an early age. The band hosted a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in order to prepare and succeeded in gathering GB£55,176. Studio Killers then announced that they were going to begin to perform live shows, beginning with the 2014 Ruisrock festival in Finland, followed by Ilosaarirock. They then released " Grande Finale" as a single in 2014.


Īfter the success of "Ode to the Bouncer", the band began to release singles " Eros and Apollo", " All Men Are Pigs" and " Jenny" until the release of their debut album, Studio Killers in 2013. The single was most successful in Europe, where it reached the number one spot on the Dutch Top 40 and Mega Single Top 100, and was certified gold.
